Job Description

NHS Band 4 Salary: £28,392 – £31,157 per annum

Hours per week: Full time, 37.5

Contract type: Permanent

We are looking for a Registered Band 4 Dental Nurse to join our busy Maxillofacial Department. The role involves assisting Consultants and clinicians across all specialities—Oral Surgery, Maxillofacial, Restorative, and Orthodontics—on a rotational basis. The ideal candidate is an excellent team member and communicator, self‑motivated, and caring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide and maintain high standards of care for all patients, including those with physical disabilities and complex medical conditions such as cancer.
  • Liaise and support the multidisciplinary team in a flexible and friendly manner.
  • Provide patient support and maintain high standards of assistance, including treatment and care, adhering to hospital and dental nursing procedures.
  • Prepare surgeries, maintaining a professional approach and ensuring necessary instruments and equipment are ready and compliant with department requirements.
  • Clean and care for instruments, maintaining Trust infection control standards.
Qualifications Essential
  • Registered Dental Nurse with GDC
  • Experience in all clinical aspects of Dental Nursing
Desirable
  • Experience in Oral Surgery, advanced restorative dentistry, and orthodontics.
  • Hospital experience or previous experience caring for cancer patients (preferred but not essential).
