Senior Installer

Position: Senior Installer (Permanent)
Our clients are seeking a Portsmouth based Senior Installer to join their growing team.
The Senior Installer will lead and carry out the installation of our clients’ products to a high standard, ensuring compliance with company procedures, customer requirements, and industry standards. The Senior Installer supports the development of less experienced team members, acts as a site lead when required, and contributes to improving installation processes through feedback and mentoring.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Carry out installations of the clients products, including vertical, WSR, concertina, and horizontal fire curtains.

• Lead on-site teams, including mentoring junior installers and managing subcontractors where necessary.

• Ensure installations are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.

• Interpret and work from technical drawings and wiring diagrams.

• Commission and test systems, ensuring compliance with fire safety standards and project requirements.

• Liaise with customers, site contacts, and other contractors professionally to represent the company positively.

• Record all work accurately using company systems and documentation, including installation records and handover certificates.

• Identify and resolve on-site issues or escalate to the Installation Manager or Project Manager when required.

• Contribute to toolbox talks, method statements, and risk assessments.

• Provide support and guidance to new starters and junior engineers.

• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good working order.
Required

Skills & experience:

• Proven experience in installing a product into a construction site.

• Fully competent in electrical and mechanical installation work.

• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

• Experience leading teams or acting as a site lead.

• Full UK driving licence.

• CSCS card (or equivalent).

• IPAF and PASMA qualifications desirable.

• Able to work flexibility – early mornings, evenings, weekends etc
