Hosted within the Engineering organization, the Validation & Operations Solutions department delivers tools for satellite projects from Earth Navigation & Science missions as well as cutting edge Telecommunications Payloads. We design, build and deploy a range of software solutions to enhance our stakeholder's data and digitalize their working environment. For this internship we have a chance to work on software for our latest Telecom Satellite design One Sat, as well as larger complex Eurostar NEOs.

Whatyou will be doing
Within this Internship, we’ll provide training and the latest tools for you to experience the full-stack of software development in an Agile environment. Those theories you’ve learnt in University shall come to life in real world requirements. You’ll have opportunities to work on websites, applications, servers, databases as well as put into practice your communication skills, design patterns and your own stamp onto our products.
Activities you may undertake:
- Given documentation to learn and understand the code base which you will be working on
- Designing, developing, documenting and testing code which you have written
- Involvement within a multi-developer agile team
- Researching and utilizing cutting-edge technologies
- Pair programming with an experienced developer
- Experiencing the full-stack of software development opportunities as a valued team member
Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore, it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.
- Studying towards a degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering
- An understanding of Object Oriented Principles
- A solid foundation in C# or Java
- Knowledge of software architecture and design patterns
- An interest in programming and technology
- Good problem solving skills
This Job Request will be allocated to the projected Joint-Venture scope towards a leading European player in space.
Security clearanceYou will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
