Transport Planner - Portsmouth

Full-time | Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm

Salary: £28 - 32K

We're looking for a switched‑on, proactive Transport Planner to join a thriving UK logistics business in Portsmouth. If you love problem‑solving, optimising routes, and keeping operations running like clockwork - this role has your name on it.

This is owning the flow of freight across the UK and making every mile count.

What you'll be doing

Owning the daily plan - coordinating all deliveries & collections with precision
Creating smart, efficient UK‑wide routes that cut costs and boost performance
Keeping everything compliant with WTD, Tacho and DVSA regulations
Handling driver infringements, investigations and accident processes
Working hand‑in‑hand with the Transport Manager to keep standards high
Building cost‑effective route plans that support business growth
Liaising across departments to make the best use of every vehicle
Securing loads and maximising revenue through 3rd‑party negotiations
Supporting drivers and office teams to keep everything on schedule  

What you'll bring

Ideally experience managing both own‑fleet operations and external hauliers
Solid knowledge of WTD, Tacho data and driver compliance
Strong UK geographical knowledge
CPC qualification? Even better
Confident communicator with a calm, solution‑focused approach
Ultra‑organised, detail‑driven and great under pressure
A team player who isn't afraid to think creatively when challenges hit
