This role is a 4 on 4 off Nights position! Are you an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver, or newly qualified and ready to begin your driving career? We are recruiting dependable drivers to join our team in Portsmouth. Experience is welcome but not essential-we are happy to invest in drivers who have the right attitude, are willing to learn and are committed to completing the required training.
In your role as a HGV Class 1 Driver, you will be operating refrigerated articulated vehicles, delivering and collecting chilled stock from Local and Regional Distribution Centres as well as Farms and Packhouses across the UK. Shift patterns available
- 4 on 4 off Nights, Ensure correct and thorough completion of paperwork
- Observe and adhere to company rules and procedures, including all aspects of health, safety and hygiene
- Maintain a good working knowledge of operations within the transport department
- Effectively manage own working time in line with the Road Transport Directive
- Adhere to tachograph rules and regulations at all times
- Ensure daily vehicle checks are completed in line with company procedure
- Responsible for unit and trailer, including temperature checks
- Ensure proof of deliveries (PODs) are signed and returned to the Transport Office after delivery
- Achieve and succeed fuel efficiency targets set by the business
- Any other duties as reasonably required
- Possession of HGV Class 1 Licence
- Current CPC
- Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers' hours.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.

Enhanced rates apply for night hours, Saturdays and Sundays, and overtime is paid after 10 hours. - Monday to Friday 04:00 - 20:00 - £16.91 per hour
- Monday to Friday 20:00 - 04:00 - £20.29 per hour
- Saturday 04:00 - 20:00 - £19.45 per hour
- Saturday 20:00 - 04:00 - £21.14 per hour
- Sunday and Bank Holiday 04:00 - 20:00 - £20.29 per hour
- Sunday and Bank Holiday 20:00 - 04: 00 - £21.98 per hour, In return, we offer:
