Are you an experienced Warehouse Manager looking for your next challenge? Our client is seeking a proactive and hands-on Warehouse & Shipping Manager to lead warehouse operations and oversee import/export shipping activities within a busy and growing organisation.

This is an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity to join a well-established business where you will play a key role in driving operational efficiency, maintaining high service standards, and leading a dedicated warehouse team. The successful candidate will initially join on a temporary basis with the potential to secure a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the warehouse team on a day-to-day basis, ensuring operational targets are achieved.
Ensure all warehouse activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and safely.
Promote and maintain a clean, organised, and compliant warehouse environment.
Develop a flexible and effective team capable of meeting business demands.
Oversee stock control processes and maintain high levels of inventory accuracy.
Investigate and report stock discrepancies promptly.
Manage the receipt, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of goods.
Work closely with other departments to ensure customer orders are fulfilled on time.
Coordinate and oversee all import and export shipments.
Build strong relationships with freight providers to secure the best service and value.
Monitor shipping costs and verify freight invoices.
Maintain warehouse equipment and vehicles in line with service schedules.
Track, review, and improve team performance using KPIs.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Provide operational support and leadership when required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

A minimum of 6 years' experience managing a fast-paced warehouse operation.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
A hands-on approach with the ability to lead from the front.
Excellent planning and organisational abilities.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Knowledge of stock control and warehouse best practices.
Basic understanding of import and export procedures.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
A positive, flexible, and solution-focused attitude.
Forklift Truck (FLT) certification or willingness to undertake training.

Desirable

Dangerous Goods certification.
Experience working with logistics, freight, or shipping providers.
