Position
Nocturnist Hospitalist MD/DO at Maryview Medical Center, Portsmouth, VA.
Job OverviewMaryview Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate full‑time physician with 2–3 years of hospitalist or nocturnist experience. The role will involve a 7-on / 7-off schedule with 180 shifts annually (15 shifts per month). Each night shift is 12 hours, 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., covering 10–12 admissions per shift with additional patients as needed. The team includes two dedicated nocturnists, two dedicated APCs (Advanced Practice Providers), and PRN physicians for backup.
AP PCC support floor calls and admissions.
- Full time – 180 shifts annually / 15 shifts per month
- 7 on – 7 off schedule
- 12‑hour night shifts 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
- 3 shifts to vary amongst Day Admitter, Rounder, or Nights
- Closed Medical ICU
- Option to perform procedures (not required)
- Residents run codes and RRTs

- Minimum 2–3 years of hospitalist or nocturnist practice experience.
- Strong preference for 2–3 years of hospitalist experience.
- $35,000 bonus paid at start
