Position: SUPERVISORY NUCLEAR ENGINEER with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will issue instructions for installation and relocation of facilities onboard nuclear-powered ships, troubleshooting and resolution of problems.
* You will provide technical direction on fluid systems and refueling mechanical in the areas of engineering design, issuance of fabrication, modification, and installation instructions.
* You will assign work to subordinate personnel ensuring timely completion and quality of work. Requirements Conditions of employment

* You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
* Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR .
* You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport. Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
* Experience applying expert-level engineering knowledge to provide technical direction for the design, fabrication, modification, and testing of nuclear refueling facilities including troubleshooting and resolving complex issues with critical systems including but not limited to; HVAC, radiological ventilation, breathing air, communications and alarms systems, normal and emergency power distribution systems, building envelope, radioactive liquid waste collection (RLW), controlled pure water (CPW), etc.

* Experience demonstrating leadership by providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and peers on complex projects.
* Experience leading project teams, distributing tasks, and reviewing the work of other engineers to ensure technical accuracy and adherence to standards.
* Experience leading or managing key phases of shipyard work on naval nuclear reactor plants, including refueling/defueling, alterations, and testing. This involves performing complex structural analyses, independently resolving shipboard interferences, and developing maintenance programs to ensure operational readiness.
* Experience acting as a subject matter expert on nuclear engineering principles for the overhaul, conversion and decommissioning of nuclear-powered naval vessels. Ensuring engineering activities comply with the stringent guidelines from the Department of the Navy and the Department of Energy for nuclear propulsion systems,
* Experience serving as a technical representative for the Shipyard in discussions with other naval shipyards, Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC)…
