Opportunity:

Virtual Service Operations is seeking a Cleared Palo Alto Citrix Engineer to support a mission-critical environment in Portsmouth, VA. This hybrid role requires candidates to work 2-3 days per week on-site. This role focuses on Citrix virtualization technologies while integrating Palo Alto security solutions to enhance network security, application delivery, and cybersecurity posture. The ideal candidate will provide engineering and operational support, ensuring the secure and efficient delivery of applications in a classified environment while contributing to SOC security operations as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Citrix Engineering & Administration:
  • Design, deploy, and maintain Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (Xen App/Xen Desktop) environments for secure application and desktop delivery.
  • Optimize Citrix Net Scaler (ADC) for load balancing, authentication, and security policies.
  • Troubleshoot Citrix performance issues and implement solutions for high availability and scalability.
  • Manage Citrix Store Front, Virtual Delivery Agents (VDAs), Machine Creation Services (MCS), and Citrix Cloud.
  • Implement and maintain Citrix security best practices, including application sandboxing and privilege escalation prevention.
• Network Security & Palo Alto Engineering:
  • Configure and maintain Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFWs) to secure network traffic for Citrix applications.
  • Implement network segmentation, zero-trust policies, and VPN security for remote Citrix access.
  • Monitor and fine-tune Palo Alto Panorama for firewall policy management and threat analysis.
• SOC & Cybersecurity Integration:
  • Collaborate with SOC analysts to enhance Citrix-related security monitoring and response.
  • Assist with log analysis, event correlation, and incident response related to Citrix and Palo Alto environments.
  • Contribute to compliance auditing, vulnerability scanning, and risk assessments for Citrix infrastructure.
  • Support SIEM tools (Splunk, ELK, or other SOC tools) by ensuring proper logging of Citrix and firewall events.

Requirements:

• Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U.S. citizenship status.
• 7 - 9 years of professional experience as a Palo Alto Citrix Engineer.
• Hands-on experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix Net Scaler (ADC), and Citrix Cloud.
• Strong experience configuring and maintaining Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFWs) and Palo Alto Panorama.
• Familiarity with SOC tools like Splunk or ELK for log analysis and event correlation.
• Experience in securing application delivery environments, network segmentation, and implementing VPN security.
• TS/SCI security clearance is required.
