Data Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to lead the design, implementation, and management of our data architecture frameworks for client and internal systems. This role is pivotal in shaping our data strategy, ensuring scalability, security, and innovation in how data is structured, stored, and accessed across complex IT environments.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including cloud engineers, software developers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to architect robust solutions that empower decision-making and support digital transformation initiatives.

Designs and oversees enterprise-level technical solutions and system architectures. Provides technical leadership and ensures alignment with business objectives. Able to commute to Marshall University in West Virginia as needed.

• Design and implement data models, data flows, and architectures for enterprise-level applications and data platforms.
• Translate business needs into long-term data architecture solutions, ensuring high performance and security.
• Develop and enforce data standards, governance practices, and quality assurance protocols.
• Integrate structured and unstructured data from various sources (on-premise and cloud).
• Collaborate with consulting teams to deliver scalable and sustainable data solutions for clients.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools that enhance data management capabilities.
• Lead efforts in data warehousing, big data architecture, and real-time analytics.
• Document data solutions and architecture processes for internal and client use.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in data architecture or a similar role, preferably in an IT consulting environment.
• 5+ years of technical PM, Salesforce, Governance, and AI experience.
• Strong proficiency in relational and non-relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Postgre
  
  SQL, Mongo
  
  DB).
• Experience with data integration tools and platforms (e.g., Informatica, Talend, Apache Nifi).
• Expertise in cloud data services (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
• Deep knowledge of data modeling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, Erwin, dbt).
• Solid understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and security practices.
• Familiarity with machine learning pipelines and AI-powered data analytics.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and Dev Ops methodologies.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Prior experience working directly with clients to design and deliver custom data solutions.

• Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred.
