Matrix Providers is hiring a LPN/LVN - Pediatric Dept. to join our team of talented professionals providing healthcare services to Military Service Members and their families at Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth VA.
- Employment Status: Full Time
- Compensation: This is a salaried position, paid bi-weekly.
- Schedule: Shifts will normally be scheduled for an eight and a half (8.5) or nine (9) hour period.

Requirements:
- Education: Degree or Education Certificate. Alternatively, the HCW may be a graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved LPN/LVN training program, an accredited LPN program by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or have completed an equivalent military training program.
- Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience (within the last two years) as an LPN in a pediatric setting.
- Licensure: Current, unrestricted license to practice as an LPN/LVN in any of the fifty (50) States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S.
Job Summary:
- Ensure patient care aligns with the Standards of Nursing Care and clinic policies.
- Check patients into the clinic and triage according to guidelines. Inform the nurse or physician of patient conditions and potential problems.
- Obtain and document patient and family history.
- Perform diagnostic support duties including vital signs, specimen collection, and recording test results.
- Assist physicians with diagnostic examinations, preparing and monitoring patients, and handling instruments.
- Perform laboratory tests, record, and report results.
- Administer treatments such as sterile dressing changes, IV monitoring, catheter insertions, medication administration, and oxygen therapy. Assist with patient ambulation.
- Prepare patients for tests, procedures, and surgeries. Collect and label specimens, follow up on lab reports, and alert providers of abnormal findings.
- Manage IV fluids accurately and according to procedures.
- Observe, document, and report patient symptoms, reactions, and condition changes to the healthcare team.
