Position Overview

The Table Attendant, also known as a Busser, plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and organization of tables and dining areas in a restaurant. They support the serving staff by clearing tables, resetting them for new guests, and assisting with various tasks to maintain a clean and orderly dining environment.

Job Summary:

The Table Attendant, also known as a Busser, plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and organization of tables and dining areas in a restaurant. They support the serving staff by clearing tables, resetting them for new guests, and assisting with various tasks to maintain a clean and orderly dining environment.

Responsibilities Table Setup and Maintenance
  • Clear tables of used dishes, glassware, and utensils promptly after guests have finished their meals.
  • Wipe down tables, chairs, and condiment holders to remove crumbs, spills, and debris.
  • Reset tables with clean tablecloths, napkins, and tableware for incoming guests.
Beverage and Condiment Refills
  • Refill water glasses, breadbaskets, and condiment containers as needed throughout service.
  • Assist servers in delivering beverages, appetizers, and other items to tables as directed.
Assistance to Serving Staff
  • Support servers by running food orders from the kitchen to the appropriate tables.
  • Communicate with serving staff to coordinate table turnovers and ensure efficient service.
  • Respond to guest requests for additional items such as extra napkins, utensils, or condiments.
Cleaning and Sanitization
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of dining areas, including floors, windows, and furniture.
  • Empty trash bins and bus carts regularly to keep dining areas clean and free of clutter.
  • Adhere to sanitation and hygiene standards, including proper handwashing and food handling practices.
Customer Service
  • Provide friendly and attentive service to guests, assisting with seating, menu inquiries, and other requests as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with guests to ensure their satisfaction and address any concerns or special requests.
  • Uphold a positive and welcoming atmosphere in the restaurant by greeting guests warmly and maintaining a professional demeanor.
