Patient Care Coordinator (Part-Time) - Surgery Center
Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a detail‑oriented, customer‑service focused Patient Care Coordinator to join our Surgery Center Team. We need someone with a professional demeanor, who can work well under stress and provide great customer service to our patients, and is able to multitask.
Responsibilities- Perform a variety of medical clerical duties, including registration and pre‑registration functions to ensure the smooth transitioning of patients through the required services.
- Prepare pre‑registration packets appropriately for each procedure.
- Obtain copies of appropriate documentation to facilitate billing and collections processes.
- Process co‑payments and payments; register patients and update medical records.
- Back up all incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate person or department.
- Perform nightly closing procedures for the clinic.
- Call patients for pre‑registration notification including co‑pays and deductibles.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.
- Ability to relate and work effectively with others.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service background.
- Prior clerical or medical office experience preferred.
