MRI TECHNOLOGIST (PRN) - IMAGING

Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a team-oriented MRI Technologist to join our Imaging Team. This is an per‑diem position that will likely be one day a week, including weekends.

The MRI Technologist performs a variety of specialized tasks involved in the performance of MR scans. Responsibilities include performing MR imaging procedures on appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols, ensuring operation of MR equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, evaluating new equipment and techniques, and administering contrast agents under guidance of the site radiologist.

Additional duties include assisting radiologist with interventional MR procedures, gaining patient cooperation, preparing patients for MR procedures by positioning, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified positions, and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors. Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection‑control policies and protocols; following drug protocols in case of reactions to drugs such as contrast media; administering first aid and using the emergency cart.

Carefully screen all patients, family members, and visitors entering the MRI scanning environment according to safety guidelines. Maintain production and quality of MR images by following established standards and procedures. Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an approved two‑year Radiologic Technology program.
• MR registered, registry eligible, or actively documenting cases performed within 18 months of accepting position.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing required.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines required.
• Demonstrated eligibility for employment in the United States.

• Demonstrated verbal communication skills in English.
