The Idaho Division of Veterans Services (IDVS) is recruiting for a temporary, part-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support our dedicated team of health care professionals at the State Veterans Home in Post Falls.
We offer 12-hour shifts.
If you have another job or are going to school, we can work with your schedule.
Positions regularly scheduled 20 or more hours per week include the full state benefit package.
- Night shift employees earn an additional 10% shift differential
- Performs practical nursing care or assists a registered nurse or physician in routine to complex situations.
- Observes, records, and reportsresidents' treatment, care, symptoms, physical and mental condition, behavior and progress.
- Administers prescribed medications including intramuscular injections and observes for adverse reactions.
- Performs treatments including change of sterile dressings, insertion of nasal gastric tubes, catheterization and removal of sutures.
- Interviewsresidents to obtain health information and instructs and counselsresidents regarding basic health needs.
- Teachesresidents and their families the importance of proper diet, proper positioning, range-of-motion exercises, transfer techniques, and personal hygiene procedures.
- Charts administered medications, symptoms, accidents, unusual behavior, doctors' visits and observed side effects of drugs.
- Orders lab and x-ray work under physician's orders.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position.

- Requires current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse or state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse pursuant to the Nurse Licensure Compact, Idaho Code 54-1418.

- Experience providing individual or group patient education
- Work experience in a plan-of-care approach to patient care
- Experience providing work direction and orientation to other workers
