Job Responsibilities
- Safety:
Maintain a safe work environment for employees and customers by prioritizing safety; ensure gas pumps, lot, and store areas are clean and debris-free; participate in monthly mandatory safety meetings and trainings with the Safety Team; report safety incidents per policy. - Leadership and Personnel Management:
Train, develop, guide and evaluate employees to operate the store effectively and safely; maintain a professional image; assist with back-up Store Manager duties including performance documentation; ensure ongoing training; provide feedback and recognition; address employee performance and violations; set and communicate performance expectations; develop potential employees for promotion; carry out company policies. - Customer Service and Site Relationships:
Provide prompt, courteous service; assist customers at the pump and in-store; accurately ring up sales, handle cash and other payment types; develop relationships with customers, vendors and contractors; manage cash, monies, and inventory during shift; maintain a clean, stocked store environment; promote loyalty programs and solicit customer feedback; resolve complaints promptly. - Business and Financial Management:
Plan and manage store activities to maximize profit; monitor fuel sales and pricing; supervise product/mix and displays; execute promotions; manage inventory and control operating expenses; prepare daily sales reports and deposits; safeguard money and maintain site files and vendor receipts; receive merchandise with proper procedures; obtain required food and age-restricted product certifications within 2 weeks of employment. - Facilities Management:
Maintain appearance and safety of paving, lighting, canopy and other structures; report facility issues; ensure equipment is safe and functional; maintain dispensing equipment and signage. - Personnel Assistance:
Maintain a professional and supportive image; assist with staffing, scheduling, and training new associates; work with Store Manager to improve teamwork and deliver training support.
- Ability to stand or walk for an entire shift; vision adequate to read inventory and operate pumps; ability to follow safety procedures; frequent reaching, gripping, and dexterity to stock, operate POS, receive payments and maintain store grounds; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds; ability to climb a step ladder.
To meet the basic qualifications you will be at least 19 years of age or older and have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Additional Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Experience in retail sales and handling cash preferred
- Ability to perform basic math
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
