Job Description & How to Apply Below

SK&A is a structural engineering consulting firm specializing in structural repair & restoration and building enclosures. Our Building Enclosure + Waterproofing practice supports architects, developers, contractors, and owners on new construction and existing buildings with solutions that are technically rigorous, practical, and constructible. Because the practice is integrated with our structural and repair & restoration expertise, we approach enclosure performance as a systems problem grounded in constructability, durability, and long-term performance.

THE ROLE

We’re seeking a Project Manager with 8–10 years in building enclosure consulting, waterproofing, or façade engineering to lead projects independently, serve as a primary client contact, and provide technical leadership from design-phase consulting through field investigation and construction administration. You’ll own project execution and technical quality, mentor junior and mid-level staff, and help grow the practice.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Manage scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables; serve as primary contact for clients, architects, contractors, and owners; lead design coordination, pre-installation, and construction progress meetings; support proposals and fee negotiation.
  • Lead technical reviews of drawings and specifications at SD, DD, and CD; direct design and detailing of wall assemblies, roofing, waterproofing, and critical transitions; evaluate air, water, thermal, and vapor control risks; coordinate with structural, MEP, and architectural disciplines.
  • Lead façade, roof, and waterproofing condition assessments; plan and execute moisture intrusion investigations and forensic evaluations; oversee field testing (water infiltration, air leakage, roof moisture surveys); prepare and review technical reports.
  • Lead construction observation and enclosure QA; review submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and change requests; lead mockups, testing, and performance verification; support or lead BECx services.
  • Mentor staff and provide QA/QC review; contribute to internal standards, details, and specifications; support business development through client relationships and thought leadership.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Building Science, Construction Management, or related field
  • 8–10 years in building enclosure consulting, waterproofing, façade engineering, or related discipline
  • Demonstrated project management and multidisciplinary coordination experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of wall, roofing, waterproofing, and façade systems
  • Proficiency with industry standards and testing protocols (ASTM, AAMA, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; high-quality technical reports and client correspondence
  • Ability to perform field work on rooftops, façades, and active construction sites
Preferred:

PE or RA licensure; BECx certification; IIBEC credentials (RRO, RRC, REWC); hygrothermal analysis, forensic, or restoration experience; familiarity with energy codes and sustainable design; comfort leading client meetings and presentations.

WHAT WE OFFER

A well-established and expanding enclosure practice, a diverse portfolio spanning new construction, historic buildings, repairs, and forensic work, and a collaborative, technically driven culture with clear pathways to increased responsibility and project leadership.

Compensation:

Compensation: $105,000 – $115,000, plus straight-time overtime eligibility and discretionary semi-annual bonuses. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage for employees and families, nine paid holidays, three weeks of PTO, 401(k) with profit share, life and disability insurance, six weeks of paid parental leave, tuition assistance, HSA, and pre-tax commuter benefits.

SK&A is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
