Part Time Produce Clerk

This is a part-time position. Primary responsibility is to take excellent care of our customers by satisfying each customer's needs and exceeding their expectations. This requires a defined level of product knowledge, food preparation skills, sales ability, customer relations skills, and cooperation with fellow associates to create an incredible place to work and shop. Responsibilities include processing, packaging, and stocking produce products according to produce standards, cleaning work areas, providing customer service, unloading stock, and reloading salvage, and performing duties of floral clerk when assigned.

• Process, package, and stock produce products according to produce standards.
• Clean work areas and provide customer service, unloading stock, and reloading salvage.
• Perform duties of floral clerk when assigned.

• High school diploma or GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions in English, write simple correspondence in English, and present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations.
• Ability to add and subtract two‑digit numbers and perform basic operations with money and weight.
• Ability to apply commonsense to carry out detailed but simple written or oral instructions.
• Complete company training, including orientation, food sanitation, customer service network, safety, food safety, and product knowledge.

Requires standing, walking, using hands, reaching, talking, hearing, and sometimes lifting up to 60 pounds. Must be able to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch. Vision abilities include close vision, color, and depth perception.

Cool environment with an average temperature of 55–60°F, frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, cold, and moderate to loud noise.

$18.00/hr – $18.00/hr harris Teeter reasonably expects to pay between $18.00/hr and $20.10/hr for newly hired associates, depending on prior experience and skill set.
