Associate Asset Protection - Security

Asset Protection Associates are responsible for protecting Giant's retail store assets by investigating losses, including merchandise, money and property. This role is responsible for preventing loss and shrink within assigned stores through monitoring, investigating, surveillance and other loss prevention tactics to include apprehending shoplifters.

This position supports Giant stores throughout Washington, DC and surrounding areas.

• Detect and resolve internal and external theft incidents.
• Serve as the primary contact for safety and security issues for stores in the area of responsibility.
• Tours stores daily, identifying deficiencies and executing corrective action as necessary.
• Maintain awareness of high risk areas in order to reduce or control merchandise losses.
• Review shrink best practices and execute shrink reduction strategy drivers on store visits. Check areas such as rotation, backroom organization and additional follow up areas assigned by supervision.
• Review shrink reports and assist in reacting to issues and opportunities seen in assigned stores.
• Assist in the implementation and communications of company policies and procedures related to safety and security training programs.
• Ensure a store environment safe from theft and provides a secure destination to shop.
• Ensure stores are secure for Associate safety from theft internally and externally.

• High School Diploma
• Driver's License and transportation required - travel throughout multiple stores in a District and/or Region
• Up to one year of related experience
• Knowledge of criminal laws applicable to various state and local jurisdictions
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all investigation related information
• Basic skills in MS Office
