Harris Teeter is looking for a Part Time Daytime Grocery Stock Clerk to join our team.

$18.00/hr

• Take Excellent Care Of Our Customers by satisfying each customer's needs and exceeding their expectations.
• Process, package, and stock products according to Grocery Standards.
• Clean work areas, provide customer service, unload and reload stock, and re‑load salvage.

• Minimum 16 years of age.
• Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to complete required training and work with the team to increase customer satisfaction and sales.
• High school diploma or GED, or one‑to‑three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
• Ability to write simple correspondence in English.
• Ability to present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, vendors, and associates who only speak English.
• Mathematical skills: add and subtract two‑digit numbers using U.S. money and weight measurement.
• Reasoning ability: apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions; deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations.
• Complete Company training, including new‑hire orientation, customer service network, safety, and product knowledge.

The role requires standing, walking, using hands to handle items, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing, tasting, and smelling. Occasionally climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Regularly lifting and moving up to 60 pounds and reaching from 6–72 inches. Vision: close vision, color, and depth perception.

Frequently exposed to wet, hot, or cold conditions and moving mechanical parts. Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level is usually moderate.

• Pay Transparency:
  Harris Teeter reasonably expects to pay between $18.00/hour and $20.10/hour for this role as a newly hired associate. Pay may depend on previous experience and skill sets.
