Head Teacher – SEN Primary School

Location:

Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Salary:
Up to £90,000 per annum (DOE) inclusive of salary, accommodation and travel allowance, paid in local currency SAR. This equates to SAR 37,500 per month.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an exceptional leader to play a pivotal role in the oversight and development of a flagship Special Educational Needs (SEN) primary school in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This school is part of an ambitious international initiative by a leading UK-based specialist education group, dedicated to transforming SEN provision through high-quality, inclusive learning environments.

We are seeking a visionary and experienced Head Teacher who is passionate about delivering outstanding education for children with special education needs and who thrives in an innovative, dynamic, and culturally diverse setting.

About the Role:

As Head Teacher, you will lead the school’s day-to-day operations, ensuring excellence in teaching, learning, and pastoral care. Working closely with the Executive Principal and a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, you will establish a culture of high expectations, personalised support, and positive outcomes for students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership & Strategy.
  • Provide strong and visionary leadership, ensuring the school’s mission and values are embedded across all aspects of teaching and learning.
  • Work alongside the Executive Principal to shape the strategic direction of the school and drive continuous improvement.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive school culture where students feel safe, valued, and empowered to achieve their full potential.
Educational Excellence:
  • Oversee curriculum design and implementation, ensuring it meets the needs of SEN learners and aligns with international best practices.
  • Ensure high standards of teaching and learning, embedding evidence-based approaches to pedagogy, behaviour support, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Promote professional development and mentoring for staff to foster a high-performing team that is committed to student success.
Compliance & Operational Management:
  • Ensure full compliance with the KSA Ministry of Education guidelines and international safeguarding standards.
  • Oversee school operations, including staffing, budget management, and resource allocation, to ensure efficiency and sustainability.
  • Prepare the school for accreditation and external inspections, maintaining the highest standards of governance and accountability.
Community & Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Build strong relationships with parents, caregivers, and the wider community, ensuring a collaborative and supportive school environment.
  • Represent the school at regional and international events, promoting its vision and impact in the field of inclusive education.
  • Engage with local and international partners to drive innovation and best practice in SEN provision.
Who We Are Looking For:
  • Essential Qualifications & Experience.
  • Proven leadership experience in a SEN primary school, ideally as a Head Teacher, Deputy Head, or equivalent senior leadership role.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialism in SEN.
  • A strong track record of improving outcomes for students with additional needs, with expertise in curriculum development, inclusion strategies, and whole-school leadership.
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, with the ability to inspire, engage, and unite teams.
  • Experience in an international setting or working within different educational systems is an advantage but not essential.
