A well-established, family-owned general contractor specializing in retail construction is seeking a director of estimating / senior estimator to lead and scale its estimating function. Due to increased project volume, the company is making a strategic investment in estimating leadership. You will inherit a team of four estimators (two junior and two senior) and be responsible for building scalable processes, establishing SOPs, and expanding the team to 6–8 estimators. Your leadership will directly support increased bid capacity and long-term growth.

• Lead and oversee all estimating activities for retail construction projects
• Perform and review hard bids in a fast-paced retail environment
• Develop and implement estimating SOPs, workflows, and best practices
• Mentor, manage, and grow the estimating team
• Partner with executive leadership on strategic growth initiatives
• Collaborate with operations, project management, and field teams
• Evaluate pricing strategies, risk, and opportunity selection

• 12+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction
• Strong hard-bid experience is required
• Experience with ground-up construction (fit-out experience a plus)
• Deep understanding of retail construction
  , including aggressive schedules and hard deadlines
• Experience working with landlords
  ; healthcare experience is a plus
• Prior people leadership or mentoring experience preferred
• Strategic mindset with the ability to balance hands-on estimating and leadership
