We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Electrical Foreman to lead our electrical crews in commercial electrical installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and a solid understanding of electrical systems specific to commercial buildings. This role will require travel (up to 25%) to commercial job sites to oversee and manage electrical projects mostly in Pennsylvania with some projects in Delaware, Maryland, and New Jersey.
Travel to commercial jobs will be within one hour of the shop location. Additionally, the foreman may assist with industrial projects as needed throughout the U.S., expanding experience across both commercial and industrial settings. Travel time will be compensated.
- Project Supervision and Installation:
Lead and supervise the electrical installation of systems for commercial buildings, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, and control systems. - Review and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and specifications to ensure work aligns with project requirements and safety standards.
- Ensure electrical installations are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with local electrical codes and national standards.
- Team Leadership:
Manage a team of electricians and technicians, ensuring effective coordination of tasks, adherence to project timelines, and compliance with safety regulations. - Train and mentor electrical apprentices and other technicians, promoting skill development and a safe work environment.
- Address any safety concerns immediately to minimize accidents or issues.
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
Perform troubleshooting and repairs for electrical systems and equipment in commercial settings. Resolve complex electrical issues and ensure minimal disruption to ongoing work. - Communication and Coordination:
Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades to ensure electrical work integrates seamlessly with other construction activities. - Quality Control and Compliance:
Ensure all electrical work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local regulations, and company standards. Perform regular inspections and tests of electrical systems to ensure all components function properly. - Industrial Project Assistance (as needed):
Occasionally assist with electrical installations and maintenance in industrial settings, such as manufacturing plants, warehouses, or other industrial facilities. Apply electrical expertise to both commercial and industrial projects, adapting to different environments and requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an electrical apprenticeship program or trade school preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in commercial electrical work, with at least 2 years in a foreman or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, and control systems.
- Familiarity with local and national electrical codes (NEC) and industry safety standards.
- Proven experience in managing electrical teams and ensuring project completion within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to assist on industrial projects when needed and adapt to different project settings.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 25% to commercial job sites.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and climb ladders for extended periods.
- Ability to work in various environments, including in confined spaces and at heights.
