Orthopedic​/Trauma Surgery - Poughkeepsie, NY; North of NYC

Vassar Brothers Medical Center located in Poughkeepsie, NY, just 75 minutes north of New York City, is seeking an additional Orthopedic Surgeon to further grow their collegial team. Specialized training is welcome but not required. Preferences would be hand or trauma.

Typical service responsibilities consist of outpatient clinical care, inpatient care, standard elective and on‑call surgical procedures, and administration and academic opportunities. Physicians will be part of the trauma call team requiring 6 calls per month.

This is a great opportunity to perform orthopedic procedures in your preferred specialty as well as provide important trauma/on‑call care for the community. There is excellent PA and resident support and opportunities to collaborate with the trauma team, neurosurgical team, hospitalists, other orthopedic surgeons, and specialists in many fields. More specifically there is ample opportunity for someone to be involved in our surgical residency program with opportunity for academic growth, research, and innovation.

Located on the banks of the scenic Hudson River, Vassar Brothers Medical Center has a new 752,000 square‑foot, eight‑level inpatient pavilion with 263 private medical/surgical patient rooms and 30 critical care rooms. Vassar provides the leading acute and critical emergency care in the region, including Level II Trauma Service and Interventional Neuroradiology. Vassar has established centers of excellence in cardiac services, neurosciences, cancer care, and women’s health.
