Pediatric Associates is seeking a Regional Lead Physician to provide leadership support in PA and NY. This role consists of both clinical practice and oversight and continuous improvement of the direct patient care provided by clinicians within the region of the state. Under the direction of the Senior Regional Medical Director, the Regional Lead Physician will be accountable for maximizing overall clinical value while engaging Physicians/APP to improve clinical quality, efficiency, outcomes, and clinician/patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- The region includes Kids Plus Pediatrics in Pittsburgh, PA and The Children's Medical Group in The Hudson Valley of NY
- Option for a 4 or 5-day work week with 1 day of administrative time
- Responsible to implement and monitor standards for the overall quality and care of clinical services provided in the region assigned. Assures all practices operate within the clinical quality, care, and safety guidelines of the Enterprise, as well as federal/regional/state guidelines.
- Builds and develops the clinician workforce within the region assigned. Assures adequate staffing, monitors performance, and coaches clinicians. Communicates effectively to assure high clinician satisfaction, engagement, and performance.
- With Operational Dyad Management, implements and monitors office staffing and standards that result in the highest quality of care while providing value, efficiency, and outstanding service to patients. Responsible for achieving the clinical and operational goals established for the assigned region.
- Oversees and monitors office budgets that assure adequate resources to meet clinical and regional goals. Monitors productivity, staffing and scheduling within the regions. Assures regional schedules and templates meet patient and non-clinician staffing needs.
- Advises, as needed with medical management leadership, risk management and other staff support teams, on quality and care related programs and policies. Works with local Quality and Risk Management staff to achieve and maintain quality and accreditation standards and plans.
- Represents regional clinicians on clinician committees as appointed by the CMO and Regional Medical Director, including the Quality subcommittees and others, approving clinical standards and policy.
- This position requires occasional travel to Pennsylvania
Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in pediatric primary care office leadership.
- Experience with budgeting and project management
- Experience on one or more committees supporting practice development, such as quality, clinician engagement, or operations.
- Knowledge and experience in a managed care delivery system, advancing clinical outcomes, and quality improvement processes
- Understanding of pediatric best practices and how to successfully introduce performance management initiatives into clinical practice
- M.D. or D.O. degree required
- Successful completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) approved post-graduate residency, or equivalent in Pediatrics
- Current, Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Pennsylvania.
- Current, Unrestricted Pennsylvania state specific DEA license
- Board Eligible or Board Certification appropriate for degree certified within five years of finishing training.
- Meets all requirements in order to obtain medical staff membership and required privileges.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) as required for hospital appointment.
