Summary

We are growing our Orthopaedic Surgery service at Mid Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY and are in search of an outpatient ambulatory focused Physician Assistant (PA). In this role, the PA works alongside experienced physicians and Advanced Practice Provider (APP) colleagues, medically managing a variety of orthopaedic patients. PAs are integral members of our department and clinical care teams that provide comprehensive care across orthopaedic subspecialties including trauma, sports medicine, hand, joint replacement, spine surgery, musculoskeletal oncology, pediatric orthopaedic surgery, and foot and ankle surgery.

Responsibilities
  • Perform medical evaluations, treatment, follow‑up, and consultations for diverse orthopaedic adult and pediatric traumas and acute‑care surgical patients.
  • Medically triage and manage inpatient orthopaedic acute consults.
  • Develop competency in procedures including, but not limited to, casting, splinting, traction, and routine orthopaedic care interventions.
Qualifications
  • Must be board‑certified as a Physician Assistant and possess or be eligible to obtain a valid New York State license.
  • Preferred candidates have a minimum of one year of experience; highly motivated new graduates with interest and ability in orthopaedic surgery are also encouraged to apply.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
