School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Poughkeepsie, New York

Located in Poughkeepsie, NY, this K-12 school-based opportunity seeks a dedicated Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) to serve primarily elementary students during the 2025‑2026 school year. This contract position runs from September 2025 through June 2026, offering a structured environment to make a direct impact on student communication skills and educational outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments and develop individualized therapy plans tailored to each student's needs
  • Provide direct therapy services to a caseload of approximately 35 students, primarily within elementary grades
  • Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to implement accommodations and modifications that support student success
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary
  • Participate actively in IEP meetings, contributing to goal setting and educational planning
  • Offer guidance and resources to parents and caregivers to extend support beyond the classroom
Qualifications
  • Masters Degree in Speech‑Language Pathology
  • Valid state SLP license or eligibility to obtain licensure in New York
  • Experience working with school‑aged children is preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams
  • Familiarity with IEP processes and educational legal requirements
