ONE (1) TEACHING ASSISTANT for UPK MINDFUL AFTERNOONS PROGRAMQUALIFICATIONS:
Teaching Assistant certification required

To provide support to Teachers in the UPK Mindful Afternoons Program.
The UPK Mindful Afternoons program serves PreK students and runs weekly, Tuesday-Thursday for2 hours
with time for snack, academic support, SEL growth, creative projects, and movement activities.
Teaching Assistants applying to the UPK MINDFUL AFTERNOONS TA position are committing to working three days per week, October 13, 2026

Prep Week with Teachers: October 8-9, 2026 (4 hours total)
Responsibilities include:
- Assist in designing lessons and providing core academic instruction utilizing various instructional delivery methods and strategies such as technology assisted instruction, individualized and small group activities.
- Assist in utilizing grade level appropriate, research-based curriculum techniques to ensure student progress.
- Assist in establishing a well-organized, attractive and relaxed classroom atmosphere in a print rich environment.
- Assist in transitions, snack, dismissal, and any other additional supports as required by the ELT administrator.
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be conducted where appropriate.

29 weeks, 2 hours/day, 3 days/week, not to exceed 174 hours
