Medical Practice Patient Representative – Pulmonary Department – Poughkeepsie, NY

$500 Sign On Bonus (External Hires Only)

Base pay range: $17.72/hr - $33.48/hr

Title:

Medical Practice Patient Representative (Office Assistant) – Pulmonary Department – Poughkeepsie, NY; 40 hours per week, Variable. 8 hour shifts Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm.

Summary:

Provides clerical and administrative support and coordinates the patient care activities for medical practice.

• Greets and welcomes patients upon arrival and communicates pleasantly and effectively.
• Ensures accuracy of patient’s information, including demographics and insurance.
• Answers phones, routes call, takes messages, and assures accurate communication both verbally and via the EMR system.
• Registers, verifies, and schedules patient appointments, testing, and referrals.
• Schedules and reschedules appointments according to office protocols.
• Monitors applications and manages worklists as applicable.
• Collects co‑pays and reconciles money for deposit.
• Obtains and coordinates record retrieval for new and established patients.
• Performs intake and processing of medical records and other documentation where applicable.
• Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
• Maintains and models the organization’s values.
• Demonstrates regular, dependable, and predictable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Travel:
Ability to travel between practices as needed.
