The line pauses, a photo eye isn’t reading, and steam demand spikes. You step in—lockout/tagout, quick diagnostics, a parts check against OEM specs, clear communication on downtime to Production and Maintenance Leadership—and we’re moving again. This is the rhythm of keeping a modern food plant running: prevent, respond, and verify.
Your core responsibilities
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production, facility, and utility systems to ensure safe, efficient operations.
Respond to production line calls; identify root causes and update stakeholders on repair progress and expected downtime.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, lubrication, and inspections to drive reliability.
Diagnose and correct mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and basic control system faults.
Safely tear down, repair, adjust, and reassemble machinery and equipment.
Inspect and validate replacement parts against OEM specifications and manufacturer tolerances.
Support plant utilities and infrastructure: HVAC, boilers, steam lines, plumbing, electrical systems, and building assets.
Coordinate repair, maintenance, and installation work to reduce production impact.
Adhere to safety, quality, GMP, and regulatory standards; maintain orderly tools, equipment, and work areas.
Confirm lines are free of tools and materials before any startup or restart.
Document work thoroughly—work orders, logs, and records—within the EFCO work order ticketing system.
Track materials/parts usage and communicate resupply needs to Maintenance Leadership.
Engage in training; assist Maintenance and Production teams to meet changing business needs.
Report unusual conditions, safety issues, and any actual or potential facility damage immediately.
Capabilities we’re looking for Applied knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and basic control systems.
Ability to safely service conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and packaging equipment.
Familiarity with industrial electrical systems: low-voltage components (sensors, photo eyes, relays) and high-voltage equipment (motors, panels, disconnects).
Experience with preventive maintenance programs and lubrication practices.
Basic understanding of HVAC, boiler operations, steam distribution, and other plant utilities.
Skilled in safe disassembly, inspection, adjustment, and reassembly of machinery.
Fundamental welding, fabrication, and hand-tool abilities.
Comfort reading work orders, SOPs, and safety instructions and following them precisely.
Strong communication with Maintenance and Production partners.
Independent work style with adherence to escalation protocols.
Safe operation of tools, test instruments, diagnostic equipment, and forklifts when trained/certified.
Physical/work environment
Prolonged standing/walking; ability to work in cold and freezer areas.
Frequent bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, and stooping; regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
Strength, stamina, and dexterity to perform essential duties safely.
