We are seeking an experienced, knowledgeable, and customer-focused Budtender / Cannabis Retail Sales Associate to join our licensed cannabis dispensary in New York State.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in cannabis retail, extensive product knowledge, and a demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service while supporting daily dispensary operations.

This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for a dependable professional who understands the cannabis industry, can confidently educate customers, drive sales, and operate within New York State's regulatory framework.

• Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming, professional retail environment.
• Educate customers about cannabis products, including flower, pre-rolls, edibles, concentrates, tinctures, and vaporizers.
• Provide knowledgeable product recommendations based on customer preferences and experience levels.
• Understand cannabinoids, terpenes, potency, product formulations, and consumption methods.
• Build long-term customer relationships and encourage repeat business.
• Meet individual and store sales objectives through excellent service and product knowledge.
• Handle customer concerns and resolve issues professionally.

Dispensary Operations

• Accurately process transactions using cannabis retail point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Maintain accurate cash drawers and follow established cash-handling procedures.
• Assist with inventory management, product receiving, stock rotation, and inventory reconciliation.
• Maintain organized, clean, and properly stocked product displays.
• Support daily opening and closing procedures.
• Identify inventory discrepancies and communicate operational concerns to management.
• Assist with merchandising, promotional initiatives, and store performance improvements.

Regulatory Compliance

• Follow all applicable New York State Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) regulations and dispensary operating procedures.
• Properly verify customer identification and age before completing sales.
• Understand cannabis purchase limits, product restrictions, and responsible sales practices.
• Maintain accurate transaction and inventory records in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Follow all security, product-handling, and loss-prevention procedures.
• Complete required compliance and Responsible Workforce Training.

• Minimum 2 years of experience working in a licensed cannabis dispensary or regulated cannabis retail environment.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of cannabis products, cannabinoids, terpenes, potency, and consumption methods.
• Experience using cannabis retail POS and inventory management systems.
• Demonstrated experience in retail sales, customer service, and cash handling.
• Familiarity with cannabis retail compliance requirements and age-verification procedures.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and professionalism.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Availability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Previous experience working in a New York State licensed cannabis dispensary.
• Familiarity with cannabis POS platforms such as Dutchie, or similar systems.
• Experience with inventory reconciliation, sales reporting, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong understanding of New York State cannabis retail regulations.
• Proven ability to achieve sales targets and build customer loyalty.
• Prior experience assisting with store opening and closing procedures.
• Experience training or mentoring junior bud tenders.
