The Role
We’re looking for a reliable and hardworking Handyman to join our property management team! As a Handyman, you will support the upkeep and functionality of a mixed‑use property, including residential units, commercial spaces, and common areas. This role requires a versatile maintenance professional capable of handling diverse repair needs while providing excellent service to tenants, residents, and commercial clients. The ideal candidate will ensure that all property spaces remain safe, operational, and well‑maintained.

Key Responsibilities- General Maintenance:
Perform routine inspections and maintenance across residential and commercial spaces, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building systems. - Repairs:
Diagnose and repair appliances, fixtures, doors, equipment, and general property components to maintain a safe and functional environment for all occupants. - Installation:
Install fixtures, appliances, signage, hardware, and other property‑related equipment as needed for both residential and commercial tenants. - Cleaning & Upkeep:
Ensure cleanliness and orderliness in mechanical rooms, maintenance areas, and shared spaces. Assist with exterior upkeep, including sidewalks, parking areas, and building entrances. - Tenant & Client Interactions:
Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests from tenants and property management staff. Provide guidance on preventative maintenance and property care. - Safety & Compliance:
Ensure all work adheres to building codes, safety regulations, and company policies. - Documentation:
Maintain detailed and accurate records of maintenance requests, work performed, materials used, and follow‑up needs using company reporting systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a handyman, maintenance technician, or similar role; property management experience preferred.
- Strong hands‑on skills in plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, HVAC basics, painting, and general building repairs.
- Problem‑solving:
Ability to quickly assess issues and implement effective, timely solutions. - Communication:
Strong interpersonal skills to engage professionally with tenants and property management teams. - Computer skills:
Ability to use a computer and software to manage work orders. App Folio (or similar) and Microsoft Outlook a plus. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical capability:
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. - Must have a car and a valid driver’s license.
This role involves both indoor and outdoor work. Candidates must be comfortable working in various weather conditions and occasionally on weekends or after hours based on property needs.
