Administrative Assistant – North Kitsap School District

Position Overview: The Administrative Assistant serves as the Leave Replacement Administrative Assistant in the Human Resources Department at Student Support Services. The role involves coordinating substitute and volunteer staff while managing student teacher and intern placements.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate substitute and volunteer schedules for the Human Resources Department.
  • Manage student teacher and intern placement processes, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Provide excellent communication and customer‑service support to district staff, volunteers, and external partners.
  • Work independently and collaboratively, prioritizing tasks in a fast‑moving environment.
Qualifications
  • Proficient with Google Suite, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and detail‑oriented approach.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Preference for current Public School Employees of North Kitsap who hold seniority in the Secretary classification.
  • Complete a required testing assessment during the interview process (may be held on site or at the district office).
Pay Range

Base pay: $403.00/hr – $403.00/hr

Employment Details
  • Hours:

    8.0 hours per day, 211 days per year (totaling 1688 hours annually).
  • Schedule:

    6:00 AM – 2:30 PM.
  • Anticipated start date:
    January 19, 2025.
  • Anticipated end date:
    June 30, 2026.
  • Position type:
    Full‑time, leave replacement.
  • Open until filled; screening begins after January 5, 2026.
Benefits Eligibility

This position is not expected to meet the 630‑hour threshold required for standard benefits. Employees working 630 hours or more in a calendar year qualify for medical, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance, and long‑term disability benefits. Eligibility for additional leave and paid holiday benefits is aligned with district collective‑bargaining agreements.
