  • Meets the ministerial requirements of the PCA Book of Church Order
  • Firm commitment to the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms, the Reformed Faith, and historic Presbyterian government and worship.
  • Ready for ordination in the PCA (or already ordained in the PCA or a NAPARC denomination)
  • Relational and approachable with a shepherd’s heart

We seek a full-time associate pastor who will:

  • Preaching:
Share with the Pastor in preaching the Word of God with urgency and conviction, to build up the saints and gather in the lost. Function as a second/backup preacher for the Pastor with an “emergency sermon” always ready.
  • Teaching:
Share in teaching the Scriptures, the Reformed Faith, and Church history, and how it applies to current circumstances. This would include teaching Adult Sunday School on a rotating basis with the Elders, possibly teaching in children’s Sunday School, and coordinating with the pastor in teaching new members classes as needed.
  • New Preaching/Teaching Needs:
Share with the Pastor in the labor of adding a Sunday evening service, take the lead in developing a mid‑week adult prayer/Bible study meeting.
  • Evangelism:
Model and further equip members how to engage in evangelism and outreach with their neighbors. Develop relationships in the community with unbelievers or others disconnected from LBPC.
  • Teamwork:
Be a team player with the Pastor and Session and share their vision for this church and church planting.
  • Prayer:
Offer daily prayer for LBPC, the Presbytery, the PCA, and other ministries connected to us.
  • Shepherding:
Share with the pastor in the work of regular visitation of the elderly or needy, and keep the Session or Deacons informed of crisis situations.
  • Discipleship:
Share with the pastor in proactively shepherding young men and fathers, and encouraging single parent families in the congregation.
  • Church Courts:
Regularly participate in the meetings of Presbytery and General Assembly. Be willing to work confessionally yet cordially within a diverse presbytery.
  • Ecumenical:
Willing to work with and be respectful of NAPARC ministers and congregations and be available on an infrequent basis to fill the pulpit for PCA and NAPARC churches nearby.
  • Church Expansion:
In consultation with the Pastor and Session, eventually research and develop a plan for planting a daughter church within 3-5 years in Kitsap County or on the Olympic peninsula, focusing on a location without a Reformed church presence. This could possibly include helping existing congregations in the work of reformation/revitalization if the Lord provides such an opportunity.

Salary Consideration: Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and training. We are willing to consider men who are finishing seminary training in 2026.
