Port Madison Construction Corporation Laborer General Position Summary
Performs variety of manual tasks involving physical labor around yard and work sites as directed by superintendent or project manager.
Essential Functions/Major ResponsibilitiesMay operate hand and power tools of all types as well as other equipment and instruments. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris, and remove hazardous waste materials. Also may assist other craft workers in facilitating alignment, movement, and adjustments of machinery, equipment, and materials. Smooth and finish freshly poured cement or concrete, using floats, trowels, screeds or powered cement finishing tools.
Install sewer, water and storm drain pipes using pipe laying machinery and laser guidance equipment. Measure, mark and record openings and distances to lay out areas where construction work is to be performed. Load, unload and identify building materials, machinery and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations according to project plans and specifications. May clean interior and/or exterior of vehicles.

- Knowledge of materials, methods, equipment and tools involved in the construction/excavating business and the ability to handle and/or operate them safely and responsibly.
Education and/or
Experience:
High School diploma or GED required. Some construction or excavation experience preferable. A valid State of Washington driver’s license is required.
Working conditions include working in a setting that requires manual labor and knowledge and use of safety equipment. May be exposed to weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat.
