We have an exciting opportunity for a Scientist/Engineer to join our Applied Sciences and Technologies (ASTech) team within the Agile Mission Systems (AMS) division here in San Diego. If you enjoy solving difficult technical problems, applying strong mathematical and design skills, and working in a fast‑paced environment with diverse projects, you might be a prime candidate to join the ASTech team.
Responsibilities- Initiate and develop highly innovative solutions to advanced technical problems
- Perform assessments of candidate state‑of‑the‑art signal‑processing algorithms
- Develop sensing capabilities leveraging RF, AI/ML, EO/IR, DSP, EW, and related technologies
- Develop and assess novel communications solutions, including waveforms, networking, and electronics
- Model link‑budgets to define system requirements and performance
- Implement Space‑time adaptive processing (STAP) techniques
- Analyze candidate designs to determine impact on subsystem and system performance
- Provide expert guidance and consulting to other staff members
- Assist in concept generation and authorship of white papers and proposals
- Support supplier and subcontractor evaluations and provide technical management when required
- Represent the company as a technical contact to customers and suppliers
- Perform other duties as assigned or required
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in data science, applied mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a related quantitative discipline. Experience requirements: 9+ years with a bachelor’s, 7+ years with a master’s, or 4+ years with a PhD (equivalent experience may substitute).
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or C++ (experience with more than one preferred).
- Strong team‑working and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prepare and conduct detailed technical presentations and reviews.
- Customer‑focused, able to formulate plans for innovative new designs to resolve advanced technical problems.
- Self‑initiated and able to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Limited travel and extended work schedules may be required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Job Type: Full‑Time Salary
Salary range: $116,480 – $208,505
