Job Summary
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA‑ASI) is a global leader in advanced remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radar systems. The Assembly Supervisor is responsible for developing, scheduling, and implementing work activities for the manufacturing and assembly area, coordinating day‑to‑day production activities, supervising personnel, and ensuring the efficient flow of products through the production cycle. This role is performed on the second shift.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Supervise assemblers and technicians throughout all production phases according to established schedules.
- Provide guidance and coaching to manufacturing personnel.
- Oversee the design and building of tooling required for the production process.
- Examine defective equipment to determine causes of malfunction and report repair needs.
- Assist the test department with rapid turnaround of repairs.
- Collaborate with engineering staff to resolve design and documentation issues.
- Interface with planning personnel in the generation of process flows and with quality assurance personnel.
- Analyze work orders and blueprints to identify material, operations, and sequence requirements.
- Monitor usage and supply of all production materials and tooling; reorder when necessary.
- Coordinate with production control to prevent material and equipment shortages.
- Formulate and recommend plans, policies, procedures, and schedules for the section.
- Identify methods to improve product quality, repeatability, and efficiency.
- Schedule and coordinate work assignments, ensuring accurate time charging, and inspect work in progress and finished products.
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Suggest changes in working conditions and equipment use to increase departmental efficiency.
- Implement configuration changes in the product and support field upgrades and operations.
- Interface with outside vendors and sales representatives to stay current on new products and services.
- Interface with customers to answer product-related questions.
- Participate in hiring, promoting, and training subordinate employees.
- Assign, direct, and review subordinates’ work.
- Observe all laws, regulations, and applicable obligations in every business context.
- Maintain a safe workplace in accordance with established operating procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
- Typically a bachelor’s degree with nine or more years of progressive professional experience in a related technical field; experience can substitute for education.
- Extensive technical understanding of production and assembly concepts and practices, with the ability to organize, schedule, and coordinate workloads and staff to meet milestones.

- Identify issues, analyze and interpret data, and develop innovative solutions to complex matters.
- Exhibit excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills for documentation, reporting, and presenting findings to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to influence and guide employees and external representatives.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Represent the company on external projects.
- Possess strong computer skills.
- Work extended hours and travel as required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required.

Salary Range: $73,700 – $128,780
