Lift Community Services of qathet Society is hiring a Registered Dietitian for a permanent part-time position in Powell River, British Columbia. The schedule covers 15 hours each week, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pay ranges from $41.97 to $52.26 CAD per hour. Applications close September 30, 2026.

The dietitian works in Complex Care Housing and the New Roots Clinic. The position serves people facing complex medical, mental health, substance use, and housing challenges.

Candidates need current full registration as a Dietitian with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia, a Dietitians of Canada accredited Dietetic Internship, and access to a personal vehicle. A criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening also forms part of the hiring requirements.

Nutrition care begins with assessments and care plans that address each client's health circumstances. Interventions cover chronic disease management, education, counselling, and health promotion, while harm reduction and culturally safe practice shape client interactions.

Community outreach extends the clinical work beyond appointments. The dietitian helps people connect with food and health resources while contributing to care for people affected by complex trauma, mental health concerns, substance use, behavioural challenges, and housing instability.

The position requires current full registration as a Dietitian with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia. Candidates also need a Dietitians of Canada accredited Dietetic Internship, two years of recent related clinical experience, and strong professional communication skills.

Canadian dietitian candidates need related education, supervised practical training, and provincial registration; the national requirements also identify PDEP-accredited education and the Canadian Dietetic Registration Exam outside Quebec.

Recent experience may come from community nutrition, primary care, public health, mental health and substance use, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Candidates need the ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.

Lift Community Services of qathet Society is a community-based nonprofit society. The dietitian reports to the Community Health Services Manager and works in a unionized environment.

Local-area travel connects the clinic setting with community meetings, outreach activities, and client appointments. Candidates need a valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for that travel.

The work includes extended sitting, walking, computer use, and occasional lifting of supplies or equipment up to 20 pounds. Community appointments, meetings, or outreach activities may occur outside standard office hours when operational needs require them.

Community nutrition roles can combine clinical assessment with outreach, education, and resource coordination. A community nutrition role can therefore include both direct care and work with local services.

The dietitian position also includes program evaluation and quality improvement. Clinical records and service information contribute to the team's review of its health programs.

Lift Community Services serves the qathet Region through complex care housing and clinic programs. The service region is identified as the homelands and territories of the Tla'amin People.
