Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is proud to be part of the provincial implementation of minimum Nurse to Patient Ratios (mNPRs), an initiative aimed at enhancing nursing practice and strengthening quality of care across the health system. mNPRs set the minimum number of nurses providing care to patients on a given unit. In British Columbia, mNPRs are developed in partnership with the Ministry of Health, the BC Nurses’ Union (BCNU) and health organizations.

The salary range for this position is CAD $49.20/Hr.
- CAD $63.47/Hr.
Come work as a Clinical Nurse Educator with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) in Combined Medical Surgical Nursing at qathet General Hospital in Powell River, BC!
Provides clinical education services including individual and group learning assessments and opportunities. Develops, implements and evaluates clinical education programs and resources using specialized theory and knowledge of generalized and specialized clinical practice as well as teaching and learning principles and processes. Consults, confers and collaborates with educators and clinical program and team members in promotion of continuous quality improvement, resolution of clinical education issues and coordination of activities required for progressive educational and clinical practice programs.
Takes corrective action with respect to individual and group learning needs.
Practices in accordance with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) standards (professional & practice) and code of ethics for registered nurses. Practices within the scope of practice as set by the organization, as per VCH policies and guidelines/clinical practice documents and within own competence. This practice is aligned with the vision, mission, goals and values of the organization as well as with the concept of the client and family centered care model.

- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Three (3) years' recent, related nursing experience in the designated clinical area(s), including one year's related teaching experience and/or group facilitation or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Completion of post graduate course work and/or certification applicable to the designated clinical area.
- Completion of 'Educator Pathway Program' is preferred.
- For designated Clinical Specialty Areas:
Three (3) years' recent, related nursing experience in the designated clinical specialty area. - Valid Driver's License to operate a vehicle within B.C. Local area travel may require the use of a personal vehicle.
- Knowledge of clinical practice related to treatment and care of the designated patient/resident population.
