VCH Addiction Nurse

Make a difference as an Addiction Nurse (RN/RPN) with Vancouver Coastal Health in beautiful Powell River, BC. Engage clients through supportive care during their recovery process.

As an integral member of the Powell River Mental Health Intensive Case Management team, you will practice within a recovery framework and uphold ethical nursing standards. This nurse will provide direct care and counseling for clients undergoing detoxification and work with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver holistic solutions for diverse client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate detoxification and stabilization for clients

• Collaborate with health professionals across sectors

• Conduct supportive counseling tailored to individual needs

• Ensure safety and respect in client interactions

• Navigate community resources for client support

Requirements:

• Practicing registration with BCCNM as RN or RPN

• Two years’ experience in mental health or substance use

• BC Driver's License and personal vehicle access

• Knowledge in trauma-informed and harm reduction approaches

• Culturally safe care capabilities essential
