Qualifications

• Grade 12 plus one (1) year of recent related experience in community and family services
• Experience supporting individuals and families experiencing barriers to participation.
• Knowledge of community resources and referral processes in qathet region.
• Experience with group facilitation, family programming, or community kitchens considered an asset.
• Basic computer skills.
• Training in trauma-informed practice, harm reduction, or non-violent communication preferred.
• Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check clearance.

• Working Condition and Physical Requirements

Work is primarily based at the Community House.

• The role involves periods of standing, light lifting, and basic facility upkeep.
• May occasionally involve outdoor programming, evening, or weekend work.
• Interactions may include individuals experiencing distress or sharing sensitive personal experiences; the ability to respond with calm, respect, and professionalism is essential.

• The Community House Support Worker contributes to the welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment of Lift’s Community House.
• The role supports individuals and families by providing access to programs, information, nutritious food, and social connection.
• The Support Worker assists with daily operations, facilitates engagement, and strengthens community belonging through compassionate, trauma-informed, and culturally safe interactions.
