Mechanical CAD Technician

Engenious has an opportunity for a detail-oriented Mechanical CAD Technician who likes variety. The Technician works with a team of mechanical engineers to communicate design standards in drawings and other forms of documentation for life-saving technology systems that do good in the world! Not just a desk job, this position has the opportunity to get hands-on making and testing prototypes in our engineering prototype labs.

Growth opportunities for this role might be mechanical engineer or senior level rock-star technician.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Solid Works
  drawings of mechanical components, assemblies and systems.
• Collaboration
  with design teams: design intent/specifications, design reviews, documentation updates, part inspection, status updates.
• Support of teams and maintaining
  3D models of parts and assemblies
  .
• Manage
  templates, PDM workflows and best practices.
• Support hands-on
  model shop
  and
  prototyping activities
  .

QUALIFICATIONS:

• An associate degree in mechanical drafting, CAD technology, or related field. Or 2+ years industry experience.
• Familiarity with drafting best practices and standards like ASME Y14.5.
• Solidworks proficiency.
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).

NICE TO HAVES:

• Experience applying GD&T
• Experience designing plastic and metal parts
• Solidworks drawing or modeling certification
• Experience working in Solidworks or Windchill PDM

POSITION DETAILS:

This is a full-time, permanent position. This position works from our Kansas City based office during core business hours.
