** Summary**:
The Registered Dietitian shall be responsible for providing nutrition consultation and education for patients who are screened and identified with nutrition risks and/or referred by physicians with nutrition related problems secondary to their diagnosis. This individual will be responsible to screen and identify patients at high risk for nutritional deficits, develop and implement evidence based nutrition interventions, monitor and evaluate patient progress and communicating nutrition care plan with other members of the patient care team and family.

The Dietitian functions will be carried out in order to ensure quality and continuity of patient care. The Dietitian will participate in compliance and quality performance improvement efforts in compliance with regulatory standards. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.
** Education / Experience**:
Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or Dietary field of study. Must be registered with the Commission on Dietetics Registration. Must have at least 3 years' experience in medical nutrition.
** License / Certification**:
Active Registered Dietitian licensure required. Active Commission on Dietetics Registration. BLS required. If working at MCC, Oncology certification preferred.
** Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:  
• Comprehensive knowledge of medical nutrition therapy and application of nutrition support services.  
• Excellent counseling skills and ability to effectively communicate based on patient's level of learning and understanding.  
• Strong interpersonal skills to establish productive working relationships with multidisciplinary team.  
• Professional communication and presentation skills.
** Working Conditions/Physical Requirements**:

Position requires sitting for 40% of the workday and mobility 60% of the workday.  There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.
Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 30 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 30 pounds.  There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.
Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels.
Much exposure to computer work.
Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.  Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.  Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
