- Enable the Crew to work safely and efficiently through training, coaching and mentoring.
- Manage daily area maintenance decisions, to include staffing, work prioritization and spending.
- Ensure effective communication between the maintenance team and other mill teams.
- Responsible for work execution within department and the overall effectiveness of the Notification and Work Order System.
- Responsible for effective participation with the MWS team and fulfills position duties included in the MWS manual.
- Creates daily/weekly schedule, helps prioritize work, and executes the work plan. Efficiently assigns manpower and has the capability to be flexible if scheduled work plans change.
- Plans more involved work in departmental area and is fluent in the use of SAP.
- Manage contract work.
- Communicate job progress and follow up on work until successful completion.
- Lead problem solving, troubleshoot issues, and initiate the acquisition of additional resources as appropriate.
- Communicate results with the Crew, Operations, and your manager.
- Grow team and individual performance to include performance reviews with team members, ensuring correct staffing, training, scheduling and development for the team.
- Promotes Crew Engagement.
- Effectively and efficiently manages Crew work hours through Work Brain.
- Promotes 5S initiatives.
- A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering is preferred. Applicable experience will be considered.
- Good decision-making, judgement and outstanding interpersonal skills are required.
- High degree of organizational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skill.
- Ability to interpret maintenance manuals, functional specifications and engineering drawings.
- Working knowledge of equipment, trades skills, work execution, and reporting.
- Ability to work within and improve a team.
- Willingness to work in different areas as department needs change.
- This position requires working extended hours often and with short notice, a strong sense of ownership and urgency, motivation and innovation, and clearly visible leadership skills.
