ABE ESL Instructor
Starting Pay: $25
AM and/or PM Classes as needed
Responsible for instructing Adult Basic Education – ESL in a learning center and classroom setting. Maintain student records related to assessment, attendance, and progress for grant record-keeping requirements. Work with Adult Basic Education program staff to maintain and enhance the program's services throughout Yavapai County. Maintain an effective working relationship with the team, students, the general public, and grant agencies.
- Bachelor's degree in Adult Education or a related field
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain AZ Adult Education Teacher Certification
- Proficient in MS Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook Express) with strong Excel skills
- Ability to learn proprietary Adult Ed database NRSPro (National Reporting System Pro)
- Previous adult teaching experience is required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evening and occasional weekend hours.
- Ability to attend required professional development (some out-of-town travel)
- Skilled in accuracy and attention to detail for records purposes
- Regular attendance is an essential job function as it demonstrates dependability toward performing job duties.
- Master's degree in Adult Education, TESOL, or related field
- Working knowledge of the AZDE (Arizona Department of Education) AES (Adult Education Services) assessment requirements, data collection, and state standards for teaching
- Experience administering TABE and TABE CLAS E assessments.
- Professional experience in a community college/higher education work environment
