Club Demonstration Services (CDS) is the in‑house event marketing provider for Costco. We deliver person‑to‑person marketing services that drive sales for manufacturers and Costco. The Event Manager will recruit, hire, and supervise in‑store Product Demonstrators, oversee product preparation and presentation, provide training, and maintain superb service to all Club members. This role requires strong communication with warehouse managers, vendors, and demonstrators, including participation in new location grand openings.
EssentialJob Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct all event activities, promotion, and sales of vendor products.
- Communicate strategies and tactics to achieve sales, service, and operational excellence.
- Support the maintenance and development of corporate governance framework, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with the District Manager to evaluate event performance metrics and make adjustments.
- Achieve defined revenue and net income objectives through sales activation, strategy, and expense management.
- Optimize customer satisfaction/loyalty through improved operations.
- Recruit, train, and hire part‑time staff; ensure food safety and sanitation.
- Communicate effectively among managers, vendors, and demonstrators.
- Participate in new location grand openings as required.
- Provide coaching and counsel to employees, taking correct measures when needed.
- Direct reports: hire, retain, train, coach, guide, and develop staff using company processes.
- Indirect reports: none.
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience (Bachelor’s Degree preferred).
- 3–5 years of experience in a client‑side branded consumer‑packaged goods company or a combination of supplier‑side and client‑side experience.
- Field of Study:
Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize with minimal supervision.
- Supervising skills, including delegating responsibility, training, and evaluating performance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexible and adaptable, able to respond to changes in projects or business environment.
- Track record of building and maintaining customer/client relationships.
- Ability to direct, lead, and develop people.
- Basic computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook, web browsers).
- NEHA Professional Food Handler Certification required.
- Set schedule:
Tuesday‑Saturday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (may vary). - Work‑life balance.
