Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Flat Rate Technician to join our team. The Flat Rate Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a customer service-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities:
1. Contribute to efficient and accurate diagnosis and repair of vehicles by using expert knowledge of automotive systems, advanced diagnostic tools, and techniques.
2. Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid top-offs.
3. Review and interpret maintenance and repair orders to ensure all necessary repairs are completed efficiently and accurately.
4. Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles, identifying any mechanical, electrical, or safety issues.
5. Diagnose malfunctions and perform necessary repairs, including but not limited to engine repairs, transmission repairs, electrical systems repairs, and suspension repairs.
6. Install and repair automotive components, including but not limited to engines, transmissions, brakes, exhaust systems, and steering systems.
7. Utilize technical resources such as service manuals, service bulletins, and computer diagnostic tools to ensure accurate and efficient repairs.
8. Keep up-to-date with advancements in automotive technology and attend relevant training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
9. Clearly and effectively communicate with service advisors and customers to explain diagnostic results, recommended repairs, and estimated completion times.
10. Document all repairs, parts replacements, and labor hours accurately and thoroughly in the designated system.
11. Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
12. Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations while working on vehicles and operating tools and equipment.

Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
2. Proven experience as a Flat Rate Technician or similar role in an automotive dealership or repair facility.
3. ASE Certification is strongly preferred.
4. In-depth knowledge of automotive systems, components, and repairs.
5. Proficiency in using diagnostic scanners, software, and other tools/equipment.
6. Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
7. Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
8. Exceptional attention to detail.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
11. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
