Colorectal Surgeon​/Advanced Surgical Oncologist

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Dignity Health Medical Group is seeking a full-time Colorectal Surgeon to join our established and growing employed practice in Prescott, AZ.

• Joining a group of 4 general surgeons to become the subject area expert for surgical diseases of the small bowel, colon, rectum and anus.
• Inpatient and outpatient management of the spectrum of colon and rectal surgical conditions and on-call general surgery.
• Up to 50 clinic patients a week, more when on call.
• Outpatient call, inpatient call and surgery.
• Both in/out patient consults.
• Full time community with teaching of medical students, and potentially rotating surgical residents.
• Procedures:
  Abdominal and anorectal surgery for a mixture of benign and malignant conditions. Colonoscopy and EGD procedures.
• Call - 6 days a month sometimes more, moderate to high intensity, shared with partners, rotated daily/weekly, coverage is shared among all partners.

  Ability to well manage with good outcomes the operative procedures of the small bowel, colon, rectum and anus via open surgical, laparoscopic and robotic techniques. Soft skills to promote an excellent patient experience and interpersonal relationships with team members and colleagues.
• Experience Level: Entry level or experienced.

• Completion of a residency in medicine and a fellowship in Colorectal Surgery, in ACGME approved programs
• Current BC/BE in Colon and Rectal Surgery (American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery)
• Valid state medical license as MD or DO
• Valid DEA certificate
