The Part‑Time Program Assistant (PAA) serves as a seasonal assistant director of Shaver’s Creek camp programs. This position is part of the leadership team that supports and creates the highest quality experience for everyone at camp.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate staff training, develop program materials, and assist with logistics associated with camp.
  • Teach and support camp programs, creating a positive, flexible atmosphere centered around learning and growth.
  • Lead training sessions for staff and coordinate daily camp operations including sign‑in/out, community circles, and teaching observations.
  • Assist with camper registrations, activity scheduling, and emergency response as needed.
  • Support program recognition initiatives and conduct site preparations for camp sessions.
  • Maintain camp safety protocols, ensuring all activities remain within eye‑shot/ear‑shot of another adult when working with minors.
Qualifications
  • Prior camp and outdoor environmental education teaching experience; program administration experience preferred.
  • Physical ability to work outdoors for up to 13 hours a day in all weather conditions.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Passion for working with children and commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive camp environment.
Schedule & Compensation
  • Hours:

    7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Monday–Saturday);
    Friday overnight program extends through Saturday morning.
  • Salary: $15 per hour, with all hours above 40 a week paid at time and a half.
  • Commitment: 40 hours a week on‑site at Shaver’s Creek Environmental Center from May 4th through August 6, 2026.
