SUMMARYThe HR Generalist II supports the bank and its 16 locations with various HR related activities. Under direction of the HR Director, responsible for the following HR activities of the division: recruiting, training, payroll related activities, maintaining employees' records in HRIS and related other systems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Responsible for recruiting activities in compliance with Affirmative Action and EEOC. Develop job opening announcements. Manage candidates within Applicant Tracking System through screening and disposition selection. Attend Career Fairs and outreach activities according to AAP goals. Works with HR Director to prepare employment offers, ensuring compensation offered is within hiring range for the job grade.
- Onboard new employees. Maintain employee records and changes in HRIS systems. Process employee termination activities.
- Update/develop job descriptions as needed.
- Ensure biweekly time reporting is accurate. Prepare and submit payroll exceptions, bonuses, and deduction changes in an accurate and timely manner.
- Respond to requests for Leaves of Absence and FMLA.
- Process tuition reimbursements in accordance with policy.
- Prepare workers compensation and unemployment claims.
- Back up support to administer NMLS process for designated employees in compliance with S.A.F.E Act, policies and procedures. Perform secondary market screening for GSA, LDP and OFAC.
- Back up to respond to corporate audit requests.
- Assist in special projects and initiatives to improve employee experience.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
- Other duties will be assigned as needed.
- Associate degree or higher preferred
- 2+ years of HR related experience
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, using considerable tact, diplomacy, and judgment.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced-pressure environment
- Able to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Keen attention to detail.
- Thorough knowledge of various office software, including advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, and Outlook
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
Must be capable of occasional travel (less than 10 days per year) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.
